| Grasslands 138-kV Feeders |
| Sargent & Lundy performed complete engineering and design for this combined 4-mile, underground 138-kV solid dielectric transmission line project. The north route was a 2.4-mile, 3-circuit duct bank and manhole system. One circuit was installed initially with provision for 2 future circuits. The southern route was a 1.6 mile 2-circuit duct bank and manhole system. The north route required two horizontal bores under state highways for a total length of 200 ft. Sargent & Lundy's team was also responsible for the design of the cable system, complete with material and installation specifications and pulling calculations. Completed in 2003. |
| East River 69-kV Feeder Reroute |
| Sargent & Lundy performed complete engineering and design for this ½-mile, single-circuit, underground 69-kV solid dielectric transmission line project in the streets of Manhattan, NY. The project scope included routing the cable above grade in the substation to the third level of the generating plant. This required the addition of structural steel framing and above grade raceway system. Sargent & Lundy's team was also responsible for the design of the cable system, complete with material and installation specifications and pulling calculations. Completed in 2003. |

| Cable System Cost Reduction Project |
| The objective of this project was to identify design approaches and installation methods that can reduce the cost of 115/138-kV underground cable systems. Phase 1 of the project, which was completed in 1997, involved interviews with utility personnel experienced in the engineering and installation of cable systems in this voltage classification and documenting the design and construction practices applied in recent projects. Phase 2 of the project involved a cost-sensitivity analysis of the factors identified in Phase 1. This project was completed in 1999. |

Working together with Exelon's Contractor of Choice (COC) team led by Kenny Construction Company, Sargent & Lundy is performing engineering for a number of 138-kV and 345-kV substations in Chicago's central business district. Each of these projects involves underground transmission and distribution feeders. Sargent & Lundy develops the designs for the duct packages that are required to connect each feeder to the new substations. A recent project was the State - Quarry/State - LaSalle 138-kV Underground Transmission Line. Sargent & Lundy performed engineering for this double-circuit line that connected the new State Street 138-kV Substation to the existing Quarry and LaSalle Substations. Solid dielectric cables were used for these circuits, which had a total length of three miles. This project was completed in 2003. |

Sargent & Lundy is performing complete project services for this downtown 138/13.8-kV substation including related underground and overhead transmission lines. An existing open-air substation is being demolished and replaced by a multilevel, enclosed GIS facility with a cable vault area housing 138-kV transmission lines and 15-kV distribution feeders. The project includes reconductoring a 69-kV underground line and replacing four 138-kV oil-filled underground transmission cables with XLPE cable and high-pressure gas-filled cable. Our scope includes overall program management, engineering and design, procurement support, construction management, and commissioning. Engineering was initiated in September 2006, and the substation is scheduled to be energized mid-2008. Project Profile: Waterside West 138/13.8 kV Project |

| Sargent & Lundy is performing engineering for the Nantucket Cable Project, which includes a 25-mile 46-kV submarine cable to Nantucket Island. Our scope of work includes development of specifications to furnish and install the cable system, as well as the engineering for the underground cables on either side of the submarine crossing and the design of the terminations at the two substations. |

Sargent & Lundy is providing engineering for this 138/12-kV substation adjacent to the Las Vegas resort "Strip" and designing the associated overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines. Segments of the 5 miles of line are being designed to accommodate a future, overbuilt 230-kV circuit and the 138-kV circuit and future 230-kV circuit to be installed underground. Engineering was initiated in August 2007 and the project is planned to be in service by June 2009. Sargent & Lundy's team includes Arcadis, Finley Engineering, and USi/GAI. | Harrison - Lincoln 115-kV Line Relocation Project |
| Sargent & Lundy performed a study to evaluate alternates to relocate a 115-kV transmission line that crosses the Willamette River in Portland, OR. The alternatives included supporting the cables on the underside of a highway bridge, placing the cables in an existing, abandoned gas main, installing a new duct bank under the river by guided boring and an overhead crossing. The study included development of conceptual designs and cost estimates for each alternative. We also prepared documents for submittal to the Oregon DOT to obtain permits for the bridge option. Sargent & Lundy's scope of work also included final engineering for the crossing option that is selected and design of the underground and overhead line segments on either side of the river. Completed in 2005. |
| Quarry - Dimple Dell 138-kV Transmission Line |
| Sargent & Lundy performed engineering for a 1.8-mile, solid dielectric 138-kV underground transmission line. Design of the underground line required coordination with the construction of a new water main and a new street. Completed in 2005. |
