Licensing

Sargent & Lundy has responded to hundreds of questions from the NRC and other regulators as required to support individual station operating licenses and construction permits. We have also provided expert testimony on behalf of the owners. In addition, we have prepared PSARs and FSARs for more than 20 U.S. nuclear units. As part of our on-going modification work for plant improvements and emerging issues, we are continuously involved in assessing and applying the latest regulations and licensing requirements.

Current projects

We are currently supporting the preparation of two COL applications for Progress Energy: twin AP1000s at the Shearon Harris site and twin units at a site in Levy County, Florida. Each COL includes:

• An FSAR
• An Environmental Report
• A Site Redress Plan
• Various programs required by the regulations in accordance with 10 CFR 52 and the guidance provided by NEI 04-01:
  • Emergency Plan
  • Security Plan
  • QA Program
