Keynote Address on Planning for the Transition to a Low Carbon Future at ASME Power 2010

July 15, 2010 - Sargent & Lundy Senior VP Rich Knoebel presented "Planning for the Transition to a Low Carbon Future" at the keynote session for ASME Power 2010. The conference was held July 13 - 15 in Chicago. Knoebel covered the status of the electric power generation mix currently in place and the actions and changes that will be required to move the electric power industry toward the goals currently being outlined in pending legislation. He also discussed some of the significant technical issues involved in the development of the technologies as well as the impacts on the operation of the system and the costs involved in their development.

Fossil-Fuel and Nuclear Power Experts Present at Electric Power 2010

May 14, 2010 - Sargent & Lundy power experts participated in the Electric Power 2010 conference held May 18-20 in Baltimore. The presentations and panel discussions reviewed current and emerging developments in both fossil-fuel and nuclear power plant projects. The presentations:

• Advanced Integration Concept for Carbon Capture and Sequestration. Dave Stopek and Roger Smith - Sargent & Lundy and John Klumpyan - NRG Energy

In addition, Dennis Demoss moderated the panel discussion on New Nuclear Update – Shovel Ready.
