Sargent & Lundy's Power Supply Planning Services develops and evaluates integrated resource plans and associated analyses in order to identify the optimum power supply options for our clients. Based upon a detailed evaluation of each client's specific needs and situation, we balance the diverse engineering, economic, and environmental issues associated with new power generation and develop feasible options. We also evaluate the potential value of Demand Side Management programs to effectively meet supply needs without new generation.

- Forecast the client's need for additional generating capacity and energy as part of a long-term power supply plan; included evaluation of potential renewable and non-renewable supply-side resources and demand-side resources
- Developed an integrated resource planning study for a municipal steam and electric utility; included evaluation and determination of the best resources to meet the utility's requirements over the next 20 years and identification of the best resource portfolio plan (unit additions and retirement by year) to meet the forecast needs for capacity and energy
- Performed resource study that evaluated a range of new resource options along with the long-term viability and costs of continuing to operate the existing resources; included evaluation of the costs and benefits of locating peaking and baseload generation options within the client's regional load zone versus other regions throughout the PJM and Midwest
